Shinonome Canal Court, 5th block
We worked on this project in collaboration with architectural office called A.D.H..
Our theme is to create a ‘city’, not building, where daily life, play and work co-exist in one place. We made many housing types corresponding to various lifestyles and needs. Many hole or ‘void’ spaces are perforated on gigantic facade, which helps reducing oppressiveness and give light expression to the façade.  Horizontal void is called ‘air pocket’ and vertical void is light court, and they let natural wind and light into the housing units, and also people can enjoy views of the canal from there.
