House in Abiko
A house designed for a couple and a large pet dog. We expected to maximise the effect of the light by painting the wall dark and limiting the numbers of aperture. We introduced a mid-floor in between the upper and the lower floor to create a sense of integration. Living room on the first floor adopts an L-shaped veranda-like space, making the area compatible for multiple lifestyle scenes. The mid-floor is usable as a reading or night living space. The distinct feature of this house is that the first-story unit on the west of the roadside keeps the privacy secure and protects the living environment of the tenants.
